This is the inspiration photo for my first post. This project and other ideas are available for your viewing pleasure on my pinboard @ http://pinterest.com/tangy_b/baby-gift-ideas/ . The original idea is from a great blog, http://www.writeclickscrapbook.com/.
I created my own version for my boss for her baby shower. The lovely lady is expecting twins, a boy and a girl. I love to give personalized gifts whenever possible- plus handmade is a great way to show someone that you really care about them.
Here is my finished version:
I love the paper choices and that you can insert a 4 X 6 photo or birth announcement into each piece.
Here are a list of materials that you will need to recreate this project:
4- 8X8 student canvases
scrapbook paper in your choice of patterns
clear photo corners
Cricut machine and font cartridge ( I used Alphalicious)
spray adhesive
dark brown ink or acrylic craft paint
burlap ribbon
3 D dots
hot glue gun3 D dots
Unfortunately, I didn't document the creative process ( I told you, this is a work in progress). But the steps are very straight forward and simple.
1. Cut scrapbook paper to size 8X8 for each canvas.
2. Spray adhesive to both the paper and canvas. Attach paper to canvas.
3. Using a dry brush technique, apply ink or paint to the edges of the paper to antique.
4. Cut out your letters using the cricut. I think that each letter is about 6 inches tall.
5. Place letters on canvas to check size and placement.
6. Using a photo or 4 X6 paper, add the photo corners to the canvas.
7. Attach letters to canvas with 3 D dots
Final step
8. Hot glue two lengths of ribbon to the back on the canvases and add a loop for hanging.
That's it! Hope that you enjoy my first project. If you love it, leave me a comment. If you make your own, send me a photo. I'd love to see it!
Keep it beautiful,
Tangy
